Sources and methodology

Where the figures, dates and locations we use come from — and what they do not tell you.

Visitor profile

We use the 2025 Visitor Profile Survey by the Gramado Tourism Observatory (Tourism Department, with technical support from the University of Caxias do Sul — UCS): 661 valid respondents, collected from 28 February 2025 to 31 December 2025 through face-to-face interviews in tourist areas and Tourist Information Centres, plus online responses.

The survey itself states that it is exploratory: it is meant for profile analysis and forming hypotheses, not for generalisations. That is why we always quote percentages with their source and avoid claims such as “all tourists”.

Events

Dates come from the official calendar of the Gramado Tourism Department and from each event’s official website, together with the date we checked them. Events without confirmation are shown as “dates to be confirmed”.

Map

Locations come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors). Features such as “free”, “good for kids” or “indoor option” are only marked when verified; without verification, the field is left blank.

Cost calculator

The calculator’s figures are editorial benchmarks, not quotes. They were calibrated so that the cost per person per day is consistent with the spending ranges reported in the official survey, and they are reviewed periodically — the review date appears in the calculator itself. Real prices vary with dates, how far ahead you book and the season. Amounts are in Brazilian reais (BRL).

Business directory

Business data comes from the business itself or its official channels, checked by our editors. Each listing shows the verification date and the source of the data.
