Updated on October 1, 2026 adapted from the Portuguese original
Gramado suits very different travellers: couples, families with children, first-timers and returning visitors. We organise attractions by what matters when planning: where they are, whether they are free, whether they work in the rain and who they suit.
Downtown (walkable)
- Rua Coberta — a covered pedestrian street with restaurants and cafés, and a stage used during big events. A classic rainy-day option.
- Igreja Matriz São Pedro — the stone parish church, a few minutes from Rua Coberta.
- Palácio dos Festivais — home of the Gramado Film Festival and a venue for shows.
- Mini Mundo — an open-air park of miniatures, popular with families (paid).
Close to downtown
- Lago Negro — the town’s best-known lake, surrounded by trees, about 2 km from downtown. Free access.
- Lago Joaquina Rita Bier — a quieter lake near the centre. Free.
- Aldeia do Papai Noel — a Christmas-themed park aimed at young children.
- Belvedere Vale do Quilombo — a free viewpoint over the valley; best on clear days.
Further out (car, taxi or ride-hailing)
- Snowland — an indoor snow park on the RS-235 highway; works in any weather (paid).
- Gramado Zoo — an open-air zoo south of the centre (paid).
- Dreamland Museu de Cera — a wax museum on Avenida das Hortênsias (indoor, paid).
- Le Jardin — a lavender park in the countryside, popular for photos.
How to choose
- Start with your time: with 2 days, stay downtown; with 4 or more, add parks further out and a day in Canela.
- Balance paid and free to manage budget and pace.
- Think about the weather: keep a covered plan B for each outdoor day.
Opening hours and tickets change often — always check each attraction’s official channels. All of these places are on the interactive map.
