Gramado 7-day itinerary: Gramado as a base for the Serra Gaúcha
A week lets you see Gramado without rushing and use the town as a base for the region.
Updated on October 2, 2026 adapted from the Portuguese original
With a week, Gramado stops being a marathon. The idea is to alternate busy days with easy ones and use the town as a base to explore the region.
Suggested structure
| Day | Plan | Pace |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Arrival, downtown on foot and dinner | Easy |
| 2 | Lago Negro, Mini Mundo and Lago Joaquina Rita Bier | Moderate |
| 3 | Attractions outside downtown (Snowland, Zoo, Dreamland or Le Jardin) | Busy |
| 4 | Canela | Busy |
| 5 | Free day: café colonial, shopping, rest | Easy |
| 6 | An outing in the region or in Gramado’s countryside | Moderate |
| 7 | Belvedere viewpoint, chocolates and farewell | Easy |
Regional outings (day 6)
With a car, you can visit other towns in the Serra Gaúcha. More distant destinations, such as the wine regions, take a whole day: check driving time and weather conditions before you set off. Without a car, compare organised tours from local agencies.
Events during the week
A week has a good chance of coinciding with an event. Check the official calendar before fixing your dates.
Tickets and opening hours of the paid attractions
The prices below were checked on the official sales channels and are shown with the date of verification. Two practical points: not every park opens every day — check the opening days in each table before fixing the order of your outings — and on public holidays and school holidays, buy ahead, because some attractions sell out or switch to high-season rates.
Prices for Canela’s attractions (Caracol Park, cable cars, Skyglass and theme parks) are in things to do in Canela.
Where to stay for this itinerary
Over a week, location matters differently: you will spend more time at your accommodation and less rushing between attractions. With a car, consider quieter areas further out, surrounded by nature — day 6, around the region, becomes easier. Without a car, downtown remains the most practical base, and regional outings can be done with agencies. Compare in where to stay in Gramado.
Common mistakes
- Filling every day: the point of a week is being able to slow down. Keep at least two easy days, as in the table above.
- Underestimating road time on regional outings: check travel time and the forecast before setting off, especially in fog.
- Doing every paid park: over seven days, ticket costs add up fast. Choose the ones that suit your group and mix in free outings.
Adapt it
- Rain: swap outdoor outings for the indoor ones in Gramado on a rainy day.
- No car: group the far-flung attractions on the same day and use a taxi or ride-hailing app — see Gramado without a car.
- With kids: do fewer activities per day and build in breaks — see Gramado with kids.
- Budget: estimate the cost of this version with the calculator.
Opening hours, tickets and operation of each attraction change: always check the official channel before you go. See every stop on the map.
