Opening
The official opening of the 41st Natal Luz is set for 22 October at 7 pm, followed by the first lighting show. It is free.
Ticketed shows
The official website, checked on 2 October 2026, lists four ticketed shows this edition:
- Nativitaten — at Serra Park.
- O Grande Desfile de Natal (the Great Christmas Parade) — at Expogramado.
- O Brilho do Natal — at the Palácio dos Festivais.
- Natal Luz In Concert — at the Palácio dos Festivais.
Each show has its own days and times, which vary through the season; at weekends some days have afternoon and evening performances. Prices, pre-sale conditions and seat availability change: check and buy only on the official website or through the sales channels it lists.

The official website lists 500 places, a 5 km course and a minimum age of 15 for the run. Registration and rules are on the event website.
How to plan
- Accommodation first: the season draws big crowds; book early. See where to stay.
- Choose your shows before planning the other days — some have few performances a week.
- Build your days around the free programme, which runs at fixed times: the 8 pm lighting show, for example, shapes your late afternoon.
- Do the outings further out in the morning. In the afternoon and evening, downtown is where everything happens.
- Estimate the cost with the calculator, counting show tickets as paid attractions.
- With children, check how long the shows last and when they end — see Gramado with kids.
How many days to plan
To see one or two shows, the free programme and the town itself, 4 to 5 days are usually enough — the most common stay in the 2025 official survey. Use the 4-day itinerary as a base and swap one outing for the shows you choose. Neighbouring Canela has its own Christmas programme — see things to do in Canela.
Changes this edition
According to the organisers, the 2026 edition brings structural changes, new shows and new venues for some main attractions. Natal Luz In Concert, for example, is a new show. If you have been in previous years, do not expect the same programme. Other events in town are in the events calendar.
