Best time to visit Gramado
There is no single best season — only the best season for what you are looking for. Remember: seasons are reversed in the southern hemisphere.

The best time to visit Gramado depends on what you want to experience: cold weather, Christmas lights, festivals or a quieter town. Each choice has a cost — in price, crowds and availability. Remember that Gramado is in the southern hemisphere: winter runs from June to August and summer from December to February.
The main periods of the year
| Period | What to expect | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Winter (June to August) | Cold, fondue, fireplaces; July coincides with Brazilian school holidays | Those who want the mountain atmosphere |
| Natal Luz season (late October to mid-January) | Decorations, shows and a free street programme | Families and Christmas lovers |
| Autumn and spring | Mild temperatures and a varied events calendar | A balance between weather and crowds |
| Summer | Longer days and pleasant temperatures for outdoor outings | Parks and nature |
Events change the calendar
Events are one of the main reasons to travel: 31% of visitors cited them in the 2025 official survey. For 2026 and early 2027, the Tourism Department’s official calendar lists, among others:
- 41st Natal Luz: 22 October 2026 to 17 January 2027.
- 13th Gramado In Concert: 18 to 31 January 2027.
- 6th Vindima (grape harvest) in Gramado: 29 January to 14 February 2027.
- 12th Easter in Gramado: 11 March to 21 April 2027.
- 36th Festa da Colônia: 30 April to 30 May 2027.
Organisers may change dates. Always check our events calendar, where we show when each piece of information was verified.
