Gramado 5-day itinerary: with Canela and a free day
Five days give you slack: the extra day becomes a rain plan B, an event day or simply a rest.
Updated on October 2, 2026 adapted from the Portuguese original
With 5 days, you follow the structure of the 4-day itinerary and gain a day with no fixed plans — the greatest luxury on a trip to the highlands, where the weather changes fast.
Days 1 to 4
- Day 1: downtown on foot and Lago Negro; fondue in the evening.
- Day 2: attractions outside downtown (Snowland, Gramado Zoo, Dreamland or Le Jardin).
- Day 3: Canela.
- Day 4: Mini Mundo, Lago Joaquina Rita Bier, café colonial and the Belvedere viewpoint.
Day 5 — Free (use it strategically)
- Did it rain on one of the days? Catch up here on the outdoor outing you missed.
- Is there an event on your dates? Check the calendar and fit in the programme.
- Want to slow down? A long coffee, shopping and a leisurely lunch.
- Already know the basics? Get ideas in second trip to Gramado.
Tickets and opening hours of the paid attractions
The prices below were checked on the official sales channels and are shown with the date of verification. Two practical points: not every park opens every day — check the opening days in each table before fixing the order of your outings — and on public holidays and school holidays, buy ahead, because some attractions sell out or switch to high-season rates.
Prices for Canela’s attractions (Caracol Park, cable cars, Skyglass and theme parks) are in things to do in Canela.
Where to stay for this itinerary
With five nights, accommodation weighs more on the budget, so compare the total price, not just the nightly rate. Without a car, downtown remains the most practical choice: the free day is easy to enjoy on foot. With a car, a quieter place in nearby neighbourhoods or on Avenida das Hortênsias suits the slower pace of this itinerary. Use the cost calculator to compare scenarios and see the areas in where to stay in Gramado.
Common mistakes
- Using up the free day at the start: it is worth more at the end of the trip, to catch up on an outing lost to rain or for an event you discovered along the way.
- Repeating the same kind of outing every day: alternate theme parks, nature and food so the trip does not get tiring.
- Forgetting to check the calendar: five days have a good chance of coinciding with an event; see the events calendar before fixing your dates.
- Not booking dinner on Saturday nights: at weekends, the most popular restaurants fill up early.
Adapt it
- Rain: swap outdoor outings for the indoor ones in Gramado on a rainy day.
- No car: group the far-flung attractions on the same day and use a taxi or ride-hailing app — see Gramado without a car.
- With kids: do fewer activities per day and build in breaks — see Gramado with kids.
- Budget: estimate the cost of this version with the calculator.
Opening hours, tickets and operation of each attraction change: always check the official channel before you go. See every stop on the map.
